Aims To ensure all people in Middlesbrough area get the benefits they are entitled to under the law. 
For Whom Local Authority staff and specified service users and advisers in the Middlesbrough area. Members of the ethnic minority population in Middlesbrough. Patients in Middlesbrough & Eston Primary Care Trust Area. Social care users from Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland when an inpatient at James Cook University Hospital. 
Services Provides training on benefits to both Council staff and outside agencies. Provides daily advice line for advisers. Tribunal representation for clients. Front line advice offered to ethnic minority community on appointment basis. Workers offering advice in East Middlesbrough (TS3) and West Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Trust areas. Two workers offering advice in a number of GP practices in Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland on a referral basis. One worker offering advice at James Cook University Hospital to social care users from Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland.
