Redcar & Cleveland NHS PCT

Following re-organisation of Primary Care Trusts in this area from 1 October 2006, the Redcar & Cleveland Trust now holds the NHS budget for the whole Redcar & Cleveland population, 139,000, (i.e. those which were in Langbaurgh Primary Care Trust area and also including those areas of Redcar & Cleveland previously served by Middlesbrough Primary Care Trust - the 'Eston corridor'). It supports the work of local GP (doctors) practices, opticians, dentists and pharmacists and directly provides the services at three community hospitals (East Cleveland Primary Care Hospital in Brotton, Guisborough Primary Care Hospital and Stead Primary Care Hospital in Redcar). It also provides services such as health visiting, district nursing, dietetics, occupational therapy and physiotherapy. Another key function of the PCT is ensuring that hospital care and other specialist treatment is available when you need it. Redcar & Cleveland Primary Care Trust is a clinically led organisation whose aim is to deliver better and more responsive health services and improve the health of local people in the area.
