The responsibility for providing mental health services across Teesside now falls on the newly formed
Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust.  From 1 April 2006 the new Trust Board takes on responsibility for the services formerly provided by Tees and North East Yorkshire NHS Trust and County Durham and Darlington Priority Services NHS Trust. 

The new Trust will continue to provide services previously provided for people in the Redcar & Cleveland area:

• Mental health services for the people of Redcar & Cleveland, Middlesbrough,
  Stockton, Hartlepool, South Easington, and North East Yorkshire.
• Learning disability services for residents of Teesside.
• Some specialist mental health services for people throughout Northern England.

Mr Con Egan has been appointed as Chief Executive (he hopes to take up this new role as soon as possible after Easter 2006).

Mrs Jo Turnbull has been appointed as Chairman, with effect from 1 April 2006.
